Hit Your Scoring Clubs Like Dustin Johnson
In 2017 Dustin Johnson was the #1 ranked player in the world. How did he vault ahead of the likes of Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Jason Day? What changed in his game?
Answer: His Scoring Shots
The numbers tell the story. Here’s a a specific example: DJ’s ShotLink proximity numbers (the average distance from the hole) on wedge approach shots from 50-75 yards dropped from 18′ 2″ to 10′ 11″ in the 2018 season.
That’s an incredibly significant number because the Pros only make around 15% of their putts from 20 feet and 22% from 15 feet. But from 10 feet that jumps to a much higher 38%.
In other words they are two to three times more likely to make their putt from 10 feet than they are from 15 or 20 feet. It’s true whether you are the #1 player in the world or a weekend warrior: the closer you hit your approach shots the more putts you’ll make.
DJ placed a significant emphasis on improving his wedge distance control. He spends an hour a day on his scoring wedges and knows – to the yard – how far he hits every wedge.
The Scoring Clubs Training Program is designed to help you do exactly what Dustin Johnson did: calibrate your wedge distances to precise numbers so you can hit it closer and make more putts.
This is a three module training program. The first module is an overview of the course, the objectives, and terminology. The second module covers scoring clubs concepts, swing technique, and strategy. The third module is the step-by-step process you’ll use to calibrate, repeat, and determine your exact wedge yardages.
By the time you complete the Scoring Clubs training course you’ll know how to control your distance and trajectory with all your wedges from a variety of yardages. And that means you’ll be hitting your approach shots a lot closer, with a lot more confidence, and you’ll have a lot more makeable putts. Just like Dustin. That translates into lower scores by about 3.6 shots per round for the average mid-80’s golfer.
Dialing in your wedge yardages is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to improve your scores. Get started today and within a month you’ll start seeing the results.
