ERIC JONES – AUTHOR
ERIC JONES is a PGA Class “A” teaching professional and founder of the Eric Jones Golf Academy as well as iGolfU, the Internet Golf University. As a leader in modern golf instruction and coaching he was recognized as PGA Teacher of the Year in 2014 and awarded the Horton Smith Award for contributions to Golf Education in 2016 by the Northern California PGA.
A former player and Assistant Coach at Stanford University, he is one of an elite list of PGA professionals who simultaneously hold a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology. He is the author of multiple best-selling golf books on Amazon including “Play Strategic Golf: Course Navigation“, “How To Make A Yardage Book“, “How To Practice Like The Pros“, and “The Clutch Golfer Formula.” His driver-distance training program “The 5 Keys To Distance” is the longest-running, best selling distance training course in golf, with more than 20,000 students and counting.
An accomplished competitor, Eric is a two-time World Long Drive Champion, capturing the Senior Long Drive title in 2003, the Super-Senior Long Drive title in 2012, and LDA Tour Rookie of the Year honors in 2004. In 2006 became the first long driver to simultaneously win both a Senior and Open division titles at the Players Tour Long Drive Championship.
As the founder of the Eric Jones Golf Academy he has received national attention for his focus on Coaching the whole game, not just swing mechanics. Eric is a frequent keynote speaker at trade and industry events, including the Northern California Golf Expo. He is a member of the Flightscope Academy teaching faculty and serves on the board of advisors for several golf-related companies, including Game Golf and The Golf Slot Machine. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Junior Golf Association of Northern California (JGANC), where he is actively growing the game by introducing young golfers to the great game of golf.
